Christmas Music Starts Thursday on Star 104.5

The first Omaha radio station to break format and go with Christmas music in 2007 will be Journal Broadcast Group-owned KSRZ, better known as "Star 104.5."

A countdown clock on the station's website reveals the switch from its usual "hot adult contemporary" format will be made Thursday morning.

Last year, Clear Channel-owned KGOR (99.9 FM) was the first Omaha station to play Christmas music regularly (beginning Nov. 23).

Ridiculous! Why can't they wait until at least AFTER Thanksgiving to being the so-called Christmas "season"?

Bad enough I just saw that new Godfather's Pizza commercial with the poor looking Christmas tree in the background.

It's FREEKING EARLY NOVEMBER!!! Jeez.

Star 104.5 - The best Christmas Music from the 80's, 90's and TODAY!

What a joke.

HWGA, non-stop endless-loop Jingle Bell Rock and that ilk for almost two months!

Don't get me wrong, I love the sounds of the season, but jeesh! It's getting to be an overdose!

Dear Santa:

Please bring me a new radio for Christmas. My old one stopped working when I repeatedly slammed it against the wall.

Thanks.

The Christmas tunes actually hit the air Wednesday. I was flipping around in the afternoon and couldn't believe they were already playing. Is 99.9 and 101 still planning on going all Christmas music? I love the music, but as mentioned above, let's wait until at least Thanksgiving.

Merry Christmas,

Does Star 104.5 still have its morning show with Glenboy and Glo during the Christmas music season? What about the other on-air talent? Or is it non-stop Christmas music?

I desperate attempt to grab onto anything by a station that has been getting it's collective rear ends kicked for a long time.

didn't god give us all free will? Just turn the station to something else, like I did, or turn on your iPod. Sheesh...people always need something to b*&ch about. I agree it's too early, that's why my radio has different settings. Don't yours?

I'm glad they're playing Christmas music. It forced me to find another station which I've found to be much much better. I enjoyed Glenn Boy and Glo but the "other" station is much more entertaining. Thanks 104.5; you helped me find a new station to listen to.

the only reasons to pull such a tired, pathetic and juvenile stunt is so the ratings will go down enough so that when they return to regular crusty tired music it will look like the station has improved. Not playing good music for two months will give the already tired and small playlist time to seem but not really be refreshed.
