Tom Becka Becomes Ordained Minister
KFAB (1110 AM) afternoon talk show host and Omaha City Weekly columnist Tom Becka is now an ordained minister.
On his program and his Myspace.com page Tuesday, Becka revealed that he has joined the Universal Life Church and became an ordained minister.
"A friend asked me to officiate at his wedding," Becka said. "I am now legal to perform weddings in all 50 states."

I saw Tom at a wedding a few years ago and he was wearing bib overalls.
Is this standard attire for the Universal Life Church?
Great! Just who you want officiating... a rambling, icoherent dork as a wedding minister. Keep your day job.
Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah nowpernunce you manandwife.
Wouldn't it make more sense to become a wrestling ref? I mean, seeing how much demand there is for wrestling in this state, one could probably make a lot of money doing wrestling matches then weddings.
Matt Perrault is Gay.
hey.. there is nothing wrong with having a backup career in place when the radio gig fails!
Wow. Somebody in Nebraska who is actually ordained to theorhetically perform a same-sex ceremony?
(faints)
After the Minister that was on this AM I doubt that saddlemeyer OR vorhees will find this amusing. They BOTH got their asses handed to them by this guy.It was great!!
So Matt P.. Could Marry a Same Sex person then? As long as Becka Performs the Ceromony
Veeeeeery original Tom. About ten years ago Todd and Tyler's producer Donnie Dodge got ordained through this same outfit.
yeah... and like TnT are original.. give it a break! all three suck
The one person worse than travis justice.
Tom wishes he could be a cool as TNT.
I guess there is no real God.
The "Universal Life Church"? Sounds like it's sponsored by an insurance company.
What about the "Modified Whole Life Church" or the "Term Life Church"?
I like that idea. They could have President David Palmer standing out in front of the church every morning saying, "You're in good hands with our church"
I wish our media was this interesting:

6:24 PM - Is that first church led by Rev. Dave Webber?
How about the church of the 'Betes led by Wilford Brimley?
How'd you miss this one, dumb-asses:
Sheila Brummer, 4 p.m. news anchor at WOWT-6-NBC in Omaha (Market #75), is out the door after less than three years on the job, reports a tipster. The Gray-owned station is also holding tight to a strict "no-overtime" policy.
@10:26 AM...not that I really care all that much, since it is WOWT, but if Brummer was truly "out the door", wouldn't you think they'd take her picture/bio link down from their "Meet the Team" section of their web site?
I mean, sure, it could be that they haven't gotten around to it, but when an exit is involved, it is usually a pretty quick thing (pulling a bio - and that goes for all stations).
I don't know why I feel the need to respond to this but the only reason I became a "minister" is so I can officiate at a friends wedding. They asked me and I was honored. So I talked about it on the air and had some fun with it. It was never designed to be a radio "bit" It was a part of my life I was sharing with the audience.
Now you can continue taking anonymous cheap shots at me and others. Carry on.
Sorry Tom, I think most people didn't realize that Matt Perrault was your friend.
Tom, slow down when you type so people can understand you.
whatdayoumean...u...u..u...cheapshotguysandgirls...ah...ah...ah...
Actually, Tom, you're all right in my book!
Tom, would you please officiate at our wedding, too? WE would be the ones honored.
Matt and Trav
I now pronunce you... Trav and wife!
Perrault likes to take cheap shots.....in his mouth.
Becka.... toughen up.
I thought my years of labeling thee BUM and sundry verbal and written cruelties would have innured thee to some of the stones and sticks thrown at thee.
Don't be a wimp, Becka.
Maybe you need some Bubba lessons to thicken thine skin.
isnt the universal life church the same thing that Les Beauchamp and his Trinity church and West Hills presbyterian church are in Omaha
or am I thinking of something else
