Scott Voorhees Will Face The Globetrotters

Scott Voorhees, courtesy of KFAB.comKFAB morning talk show host Scott Voorhees will suit up and play basketball Saturday night against the Harlem Globetrotters.

Voorhees elaborated on his roster spot with the Washington Generals - the Globetrotters' perennial opponent that has lost more than 13,000 games - during Wednesday's program. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs.

"Are the Globetrotters going to be pulling down my pants and throwing confetti on me," Voorhees asked Washington Generals Owner Red Klotz.

"No, no, no," Klotz said. "You're a fine guest."

Voorhees, who played for Ralston High School, said he's a streaky shooter.

The last time the Washington Generals defeated the Globetrotters was Jan. 5, 1971, in Martin, Tenn., Klotz himself hit the game-winner in overtime in the 100-99 victory.

Matt Perrault is Gay.

Scott - one of the few gems (or, only) in the Omaha radio market.

Good luck to the Harlem Globetrotters! Lets hope they pull themselves out of their embarassing losing streak and get back on the road to victory.

Uh, 7:32, please re-read the story. It's not the 'Trotters who have the losing streak, dude or dudette.

Sean, did the tv stations pay you to stop writing about them? Or was it a threat?

re: 7:50 am

What is the deal? Is this the print and radio members only blog? Do people still have TV's in Omaha?

7:43, I was being sarcastic.

As noted on ESPN and the expose in Sports Illustrated, the Globetrotters winning tradition will return after the recent interal shake-up and the firings of their head coach and the much-hated Defensive Coordinator.

(again...sarcasm)

8:51 -- there ARE plenty of TV's in Omaha. With what is being broadcast by the local stations, though, those TV's are better served in their other objective -- as dust collectors.

Wonder why they didn't ask J-Dub to play in this game. Wait, I guess it's in CB, and she's an Omaha-only shill.

They probably thought she'd try to rearrange the trailers in Council Bluffs Regency (look it up, it's really there) to spell Globetrotters a la the Idol corn disaster that perpetuated that stereotype.

Originality, where have you gone?

Those "Matt Perrault is gay" comments get funnier every time.

I'm glad that someone is sitting around (probably in his mom's basement) hitting the "refresh" button on his browser to see if there's a new update on this page so he can be the first to post his comment.

And then I remember that in the next election this guy's vote will count just as much as mine. It makes me sad.

Horatio, you're right. Originiality has taken a holiday, just look at 12:01 PM.

A mom's basement, refresh and they get to vote comment all in one post. Uninspired dreck, and he/she/it probably thinks the post is edgy.

Ted, oh Ted, where have you gone?

I just think its really sweet that somebody cares enough to type the Matt Perrault thing over and over and over.

That kind of devotion is rare. Its kinda cute.

He's probably a jaded lover

Why wasn't Perrault, an alleged sports talk host, asked to do this instead of Voorhees? Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, who wants to see Perrault in Jackie Moon short-shorts?

I know that's a loaded question because this is all a goof anyway, but I do beg of you no Washington Genitals jokes please.

But doesn't it seem odd a news guy would be picked over Matty or even Travis?

Forget Voorhees, Perrault, et al... I wanna see nekked chick newscaster basketball. Specifically, I wanna see Amanda Mueller post up on Brandi Peterson. Now THAT'S entertainment. Who's with me?

I bet the asked Voorhees over the others because they wanted the free pub from a radio station with more than a dozen listeners.

Does anyone have any new news on KVSS taking over 101.9 or 100.7 ???

Anonymous said...

Doesn't matter, just turn on your satellite radio for some entertaining, commercial-free radio. Amazing stuff, and you don't lose reception driving down Pacific Street.

Hey 10:08...Who is J-Dub?

Anonymous said...

101.9 The Edge is BACK~!

Thank you Howie, etc... I knew there would be the "Matt Perrault is gay" comment in this blog but was very happy to see it was first. You're right on the ball, Howie. Or, should I say "right on the balls?"

No problem, happy to help and entertain. Sometimes you just luck out and get to play leadoff. I can't take credit for coming up with that trend, I just always howled out loud when it started popping up (settle down, Matt, not THAT kind of popping up) in every blog. Whoever started doing that deserves the props. It's sophomoric, usually off topic, but it sure does make people laugh.

7:53 AM - J-Dub is good ol' Jenny Windrum, former shill for the Mayor (she reminds everyone of that in every blog) and now a PR flack who engineered the awful American Idol crop circle debacle. Check out the 3/18 New York Times and 1/29 American Idol blogs on this site for others thoughts on her blunder. Her 821-word defense in the 3/18 blog is brutal.

On a related note: Matt Perrault will suit up and wrestle on the next WWE card in Omaha. All of this will be done to promote his new sponsor of his radio show....Joe Zweiback's Geraspeed.

Speaking of Gera-Speed, check out this awesome video:
