Thompson Lands With Nelson

Former Omaha World-Herald Washington, D.C. bureau writer Jake Thompson will take over as the communications director for Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson beginning June 9.

Thompson was laid off from the Herald last month, along with photo assignment editor Craig Chandler, business reporter Mike Avok and graphic designer Sid Jablonski.

“Jake brings an extensive knowledge of Nebraska media, Washington, and Senator Nelson’s record and agenda to the position. Jake will have the same contact information currently assigned to me when he joins the staff,” David Di Martino, the current communications director, said in a press release issued on Friday.

“As for me, today (Friday, May 30) is my last day in this office,” Martino said. “I will be moving to a position in the private sector next month after taking some time off. I’ve truly enjoyed working for Senator Nelson and on behalf of the great state of Nebraska. Senator Nelson is a great person and a good friend and a wonderful public servant who has always done what he thinks is right for Nebraska. I feel honored to have had the opportunity to work with him over these past years. I will miss it. You all have been great to work with and I hope we have the opportunity to work together in the future. It will be hard to resist getting involved in Nebraska politics in some way after the last seven years with Senator Nelson.”

Matt Perrault is Gay.

I've never met him but dealt with him on occasion over the phone. Mr. Thompson was a rude, obnoxious reporter. Sorry, I can't say much good about him

Anonymous said...

That would make him a great fit for the democrats....

Can anyone tell me how this decision will affect Perrault? We need to get to the important stuff here, people.

OMG...7:55 am...your name reminded me of a scene in "Anchorman" with Will Ferrell.

Rude & obnoxious? I've never heard Jake Thompson described that way. Total pro, he was head of a group of bureau chiefs when he was with the W-H.

I think you're thinking of Nelson's other staffer and former Omaha reporter -- Jim Fagan.

Anybody catch FUBAR on the 10:00 news last night. She was reporting from a car accident and kept referring to one of the vehicles as a Lincoln Township instead of Towncar. She made the refrence at least 5 times during the live shot. How is this woman still on the air?

Phillip McCrevis said...

You missed the whole point. She's trying to return to Planet Fubar, and she was communicating with fellow Fubarians at Command Central.

Of course she even messed that up, as she was trying to communicate with the Lincoln Mothership, not the Lincoln Township.

i think she must give a good ORAL presentation off air

"Private sector", it sounds so elite.

Fubar, Fubar, Fubar, why oh why do you even bother to give people more ammo darling ?

Has anyone heard that Mary Williams is leaving KMTV? Is she moving to another market or getting out of the business?

Anonymous said...

Neither, from what I understand.

Jim, Sean

You really should link your City Weekly image on the top left to your web site
http://67.227.135.129/

By the way, any plans on changing that URL? Its not very catchy.

Sooooooooooo..............

Only logical explanation I can come up with for giving FUBAR anything that doesn't require reading from a teleprompter is that someone at KETV makes a drinking game out of her reporting

Poor FUBAR.

By the way ... excellent, excellent, excellent comments recently posted under April 23 "KETV Tops Omaha TV News Viewership".

Maybe this blog should become "Farrah Watch"???

Would we get more frequent posts?

mmmmmmmmmmmmm... ghetto booty... shake your groove thang, yeah, yeah...

Where's that pajama fetishist horatio caine?

We need someone to produce "Naughty Pajama Party starring Farrah Fazal sponsored by Dr. John's."

Horatio Caine said...

See, Spanky, you're missing the whole point by bringing the porn element into it.

The Guerin and Jess Pajama Dance Party Hour hosted by Don Cornelius leaves out all the nasty but keeps all the hotness of the ladies and their covey o' cuties who will be dancing to the latest mix of barf-inducing bubble gum music and the classics Jess has already designated.

Michael Scott is trying to horn his way into this gig and replace Don Cornelius, so that has slowed production down the last couple of days.

We don't want local purveyors of porn as sponsors, we can't have Fubar in there because she'd keep saying she arrived at the show in a Lincoln Township or that her wardrobe was provided by that great department store Blooming Onions.

Forget the porn, it's all about the sexy.

Jess, are you comfortable with a few bubble-gum tunes as part of the mix, and what's the latest on your wardrobe selection menu?

Pretty sure he was talking about you Jake. I agree with the accessment.

Jesse said...

Is Hanson off limits for the bubble gum tunes?

Jess said...

Oh yes Hanson is a must. Thanks for reminding me Jesse !

Horatio--still working on wardrobe, Chambers thinks he has to get in on that, wtfe. Michael Scott won't adhere to my rules of writing an essay on ignorance that he will perform during the first show, so he cannot come and play.

Speaking of Mary Williams leaving KM...also noticed that Kathy Sarantos Niver's bio has disappeared from the KMTV website

Anonymous said...

First Brummer's bio is gone, now Niver's. Whatever will we do, aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

Anonymous said...

Niver is now KMTV's assignment editor

Aww, Horatio... Poor boy! Get some therapy for that granny flannel jammies fetish. No need to keep it G-rated. I'm thinking a strong PG-13. Enough to excite Bob Dole and Don Cornelius so they go to the trouble of popping little blue pills with a Pepsi chaser and tell their dogs "down, boy".

Fubar gyrating in fancy panties or a lacy teddy isn't porn. Just like the Victoria's Secret catalog is sexy but not porn. But both sure get men excited!

If she shows up in a Lincoln Township car, you'll just have to play a Jefferson Starship tune in the background.

Or even better, rework the B-52's "Love Shack": "I'm gonna jump in my Township, big as a whale and it's gonna set sail..."

Jesse said...

She needs to get out of the Township and follow with a dance/jig routine.

Bonnie Tyler's "Holding out for a Hero" comes to mind as appropriate. That song is possibly a metaphoric personification of why she still hasn't given up.

Anonymous said...

Too many chefs stirring the pot. Horatio and Don know what they're doing, folks. They know to leave Dr. John's out and nobody invited Fubar. Only Jess-approved guests were allowed is what I was told at the last production meeting.

If Niver hands out an assignment, can anyone actually hear her doing so?

Bredow is Hot! said...

What's the deal with Guerin? Serious, what family member gave her a job? I love the Family Guy, but do they have to put her on every commercial break? Hurts my balls listening to her drivel. And what's up with the hair honey. Curtains ain't matching the carpet there for sure....although those floors are probably bare.

Bredow isn't that hot, but that post was sizzlin'. Hope your onions feel better soon. Oh, and thanks for watching.

Bredow is Hot! said...

Her nerdy little ways and bad fashion are incredibly hot. The way she points to those temps in the morning drive me wild and make the day go by more pleasantly.....When she was on vacation I was so bummed.

If they would weld Fubar's juicy ghetto booty onto Bredow, we would witness the perfect female form.

Jim Rose is more gay that Perrault. Rose is a high stepping fairy.

A little off topic, Guys... I have a question. Last weekend I had fun with this site:
Rivalspot.com - Ps3 Live Tournaments
They say you can play online FIFA Soccer game tournaments on any console for cash... had anyone tried that before? Looks like a cool idea...
Are there any other sites where you can play sports games for real moneys? I Googled and found only Bringit.com and Worldgaming.com but it looks these guys don't specialize in sport gamez. Any suggestions?

Previously I bought all tattoo supplies at wholesale prices but my supplier committed suicide (life is weird!) so I'm in search of a low cost tattoo supply firm (better online one) to buy tattoo supplies from. Here is an example of what I need: Tattoo Supplies. Thank you very much in advance for any ideas guys! PM me or drop me some lines at: triple6tattoo@hotmail.com
