Michael Scott Out (Again)
Former Omaha TV anchor Michael Scott is looking for a job for the third time in less than three years after being let go from Huntsville, Ala., station WAAY.
According to Newsblues.com, a subscription-only service, Scott reportedly called an African American producer the “N” word.
Scott was the ABC affiliate's evening anchor and managing editor who had been at the station since July of 2007.
WAAY newsroom insiders say Scott had been issued several written and verbal warnings by management for his outlandish behavior over the past eight months. According to one station co-worker, Scott "told a female employee she needed to douche, berated a male reporter in the newsroom in front of other staff, and physically hit his co-anchor (Karen Adams) on and off air. Scott was relentless in his attack on her."
Richard Prince's "Journal-isms" column reports that the incident is but the latest censure of the N-word's use in a professional setting.
Scott is a 30-year veteran of the broadcast industry whose well-traveled career includes stops at KETV and KMTV in Omaha, Los Angeles, Dallas, Denver, Charlotte (for three months) and Kansas City.

Uhm...wow. What a prick. I don't understand why the hell not one of those people he said the "N" word to or HIT, didn't beat the shit out of him.
Maybe the Duff man can hook him up at First Data.
Thanks Sean !
Hey Jess, would you be interested in Michael guest-hosting the Guerin and Jess Pajama Dance Party Hour hosted by Don Cornelius?
Wow, and to think this guy wanted to represent us in Congress. Good think he got stomped at the polls like narc at a biker rally.

Check out this infamous YouTube video of Mr. Michael Scott

If that means I get to beat the hell out of him then sure !
Better be carfeul, sounds like he hits back and doesn't seem to care about the chromosome makeup of his target.
Maybe he could come back to Inaction News 3 and knock some heads around there. Scott vs. Travis Justice would be prime TV viewing, I think...
Wow. That Michael Scott sounds like a real peach!
You know, I lived in Huntsville too! Bunch of f-ing hillbillies.
Sincerely,
The Perrault
He may not fit in at Affirmative Action News 3 anymore after dropping N bombs and throwing haymakers at fellow anchors.
When Michael went to Huntsville (83rd market, after six month job search) I wished him well and hoped whatever substance abuse, female problem, or combination thereof was behind him.
Now the little pischer is reduced to hiding behind the 'N' word. The 'N' word has nothing to do with it. This guy is seriously warped when it comes to interpersonal relations. I'd hope he ends up flipping burgers, but any fast food joint would not tolerate his behavior.
I'd love to see Carol Schrader, Rose Shannon, and Loretta Carroll (though Loretta may be a bit dim on the details) anonymously post some juicy details of Michael's stay in the Big O.
Juicy details are the best kinds
My guess would be the guy think he is this major talent. Coming in with an attitude of "I did L.A. news. I did Dallas news. I did Entertainment Tonight for crying out loud!! You people in Huntsville Alabama ought to be damn thankful to have me".
And the folks in Alabama thought otherwise.
This guy represents everything that is wrong with TV "journalism" and the lacks that hire such trash, including those in Omaha. Icky, icky, icky.
Which means WOWT is likely in talks with this guy to bring him to Channel Six.
Isn't WOWT still under a hiring freeze?
Am I the only one who wants to punch Jim Suckdicky everytime I see his face?
Maybe he could do some commercial spots for GEICO with that damn talking Gecko?
No I want to punch him to!
Maybe Six could pair Michael with Brummer on a 2 a.m. news team. Any thoughts on that, Brummerphile, or have they taken down her bio yet?
WOWT is on a hiring freze?!
Oh God. I stopped watching that awful Daybreak program long long ago. That Jim Siedlecki is positively awful!
And the way he talks...Reminds me of Cindy Brady.
Could he spin tunes at Radio Disney?
lets not forget his wonderfull saying. "take care of one another".
I thought that was Jerry Springer's saying.
At 12:55 pm hugh jass said "Maybe Six could pair Michael with Brummer on a 2 a.m. news team. Any thoughts on that, Brummerphile, or have they taken down her bio yet?"
So hugh, you're Brummer's stalker's stalker? What a pathetic life you must lead.
Dude, find some closure and move on with your life!!!
Maybe you can latch on to Farrah Fazal. Why, just tonight she kept talking about a "Lincoln Township Car"... said it at least three times in one live shot.
She did get it right the next live shot... "Lincoln Town Car".
Two hack cliches in one post? Sounds like something you'd find on a wrestling blog. And leave Fubar alone, at least she's trying.
Lincoln Township Car??
Oh bless her heart.
at 8:41- easy my child
Michael Scott got back into news?? About 6 years ago or so he got some lame ass job at Info USA as the "producer" of video clips for the "video yellow pages" that they were trying to develop. He was very unprofessional and I could tell the guy was not very bright. I was in a meeting with him (I was a salesperson for this video yellow pages)discussion what one of the customers wanted for their video clip that he was to "produce" and he said to me (in front of everyone in the meeting) "if i want any lip from you, i'll pull down my zipper". he's seriously wacked...
Now THAT's what I'm talkin' 'bout. More dirt like that.
Green Bay station dumps sports anchors
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sportscasts to be done out of Milwaukee
By Warren Gerds • wgerds@greenbaypressgazette.com •
Sports anchors Ted Stefaniak and John Burton will soon leave WGBA, Channel 26, Green Bay. The station's sportscasts will be done out of Milwaukee.
Their terminations were confirmed this morning by Jim Thomas, corporate marketing vice president for the Milwaukee-based Journal Broadcast Group, which owns the station.
“We’re going to begin producing the sports out of the Milwaukee newsroom (of WTMJ),” Thomas said.
When Stefaniak and Burton will leave is unclear.
“The actual end dates are going to be worked out,” Thomas said. “I don’t have those in front of me right now. Sometime in the near future.”
Stefaniak has been with WGBA as sports director/anchor since April 2002. He also has been play-by-play announcer for the WIAA state basketball tournaments since 1995.
Burton, weekend sports anchor and reporter, has been with the station since 1996.
The reason for the change is “continuous evaluation of our ongoing operation,” Thomas said.
In a report to stockholders in April, Steven Smith, chairman and CEO of Journal Communications, said the weak economy continued to affect the company’s advertising-based businesses.
One question mark at WGBA is what will happen with coverage of local high school sports, especially on game-heavy weekends.
“I’m not sure I can predict that today,” Thomas said.
Appearing on WGBA for sports segments in newscasts will be WTMJ’s Lance Allan, Rod Burks and Jessie Garcia. Those segments may be live or recorded.
“That part’s still in the works,” Thomas said. “We have the capability to do either.”
At present, the only WGBA staffers affected are Stefaniak and Burton, he said.
“(There are) no other changes that we’re prepared to discuss,” Thomas said.
Like the last episode of Mary Tyler Moore...Journal Broadcast gets rid of talent and keeps Travis Justice!
Michael Scott used to buy gifts for his mistresses using the company credit card...
Good work, keep 'em comin'...
Hey if the Milwaukee sports feed to Green Bay works, how long before KMTV gets its sports feed from Milwaukee too? And where does that leave Travis Justus? Oooh, what a TRAVIA question that is...
And KETV could just run 3 minutes of ESPN's SportsCenter, instead of having Matt Schick doing the John Anderson/Kenny Mayne impersonation.
Shick's impersonating Anderson and Mayne??? Wow...it needs more work.
12:04pm - NO WAY!!! SportsCenter could never replace Farrah dingin' the cowbell during Shick's sportscast...
Schick is great. I love the fact that he's different than every other bland sportscaster on local t.v. He's a lot of fun to watch...and I wonder if he's single:)
Thanks for that post, Shannon Sharpe. Mmmmmmm, Fubar. Every 'caster now thinks each broadcast is a Sports Center audition. Enough with the smarmy people, bring back Ann Schatz from Portland.
They can't all be as great as you...Mel Mains. If you prefer that type of sportscasting, I'm sure you'll find Channel 6 to be a perfect fit.
That's what she said.
Sincerely,

"Fubar Fazal"........more proof yet that the masses have absolutely no say what so ever in who we get to watch on tv or hear on the radio.
Kevin, do you even know who the legendary Mel Mains is?
5:40pm,
Yes I do.
Thanks.
Hey 5:40 -- are you aware that Mel Mains has been DEAD for a couple years now???
Even from the great beyond, Mel still rules.
The guy was a very good anchor. What a shame.
