World-Herald Writes 'Trial Briefs';
Everyone Else Calls It 'Blogging'

The Omaha World-Herald continues to resist the notion that it is joining in the digital age of disseminating timely, up-to-the-minute information on the Internet.

The newspaper's "Trial Briefs" on Omaha.com is actually a blog. Reporters Lynn Safranek and Todd Cooper are documenting developments from the courtroom of the Christopher Edwards murder trial. The items are then posted on the newspaper's website.

Previously, the World-Herald has referred to e-mails as "electronic messages" in news stories.

Well, when you're a dinosaur with a receding circulation, it's hard use all this new-fangled tecnology, let alone actually say the words, "e-mail" and "blog."

Has anyone read this thing?

Are the reporters purposely trying to get cute? It's a MURDER trial!

People talk about the demise of newspapers. Maybe they should be focusing on the quality of reporters dishing out the news.

I would expect better from Todd Cooper.

Obbop:

Where did this entry have anything to do with your "immigration" stance? Just curious.

Obbop - time to disconnect from the internet, unplug the computer and box it up.

After that, check into the nearest hospital to confirm that diagnosis of dementia you've got going there...

You're asking a little too much of Obbop, aren't you??? That's a little too much common sense in one post for him to comprehend...

Why don't you just start your own blog to post your "thoughts" Obbop and spare the rest of us?

Obbop just proved my point -- intelligent thought is far out of his reach.

Holy Cow, Obbop, Senator McCarthy of Wisconsin lives on! Who are you going after next?-the Scottish-Americans? Nah, it should be those dangerous Candaians. I've always suspected a plot up there to overtake us.

Maybe you should take some of that precious energy you use doing this research and put it to better use in the community. Instead of finding a problem but having no viable solution for it, use your energies for finding a humane solution for it. Perhaps, if you are so afraid of the immigrants you should move to Mexico and bring the unions to that country. Maybe this would raise the living wage there and boost the economy so the people wouldn't have to come to the US for a decent living wage.

What a narrowminded, ignorant fool you are.
