Have you noticed that Elictia Hammond is gone from KETV-7?The former morning co-anchor, who joined KETV in 2004, left the station June 30 to spend more time with her family.
“We appreciate the work Elictia has done over the past three-and-a-half years to help build First News into the morning news leader,” said KETV President and General Manager Sarah Smith.
“Elictia is leaving First News on a high ratings note. In the most recent Nielsen survey, May 2008, the program gained viewers (adults 25-54) over May 2007 and it has consistently been the No. 1 local news program among adult 25-54 viewers.”

As for the Hammond exit: she actually did leave to be a full-time mother. This time, it had nothing to do with ego.
But is Travis Justice on the way out? That's the more timely question.

I know that Bredow has been involved with some charity work. Could this be related to that?
ReplyDeleteOr was she tired of waking up at 3:00 am every morning and saw the handwriting on the wall that Bill Randby will never leave Channel 7 and she would be waking up at 3:00 am for the next 10 years until she married Todd Andrews and had twins and decided to leave to spend more time with her kids?
I can't wait to read the press release verbatim over a month after she leaves Channel 7 in the City Weekly Medi Blog for the last news on the subject!

ReplyDeleteIt made my life that Andrea Bredow has left! I could not stand another minute of her whining about getting up in the morning, or the same catchphrases she relied on like grandma's crutch, or her inability to enunciate. Thank goodness she recognized her limitations. Respect for that!
