Adrian Fiala Will Receive Hall Honor Tonight
University of Nebraska-Lincoln sports broadcaster Adrian Fiala will be inducted into the Omaha Oldtimers’ Baseball Club Hall of Fame tonight in Omaha.
Fiala, a baseball and football standout for the Huskers, is one of eight members of the Hall's 2007 class of inductees. Joining him are Bellevue University baseball Coach Mike Evans, Richard “Bubby” Harrison, Buddy Hunter, Herb Kupfer, Dani Mancuso, Dan McGinn and Jerry Ryan.
The ceremony takes place at Cascio's Steakhouse with dinner and the program beginning at 7 p.m.
Fiala currently serves as a color analyst on Husker football and baseball radio and TV broadcasts.

Has anyone in Nebraska coasted on his marginal athletic accomplishments more than Adrian Fiala? Wouldn't it be nice if the guy had actually done something significant beyond the age of 22? What a bloated gasbag.
Thank you Jim Rose for your insightful commentary above. I guess it really does take one to know one.
WOW! Anonymous #1 sure has a bone to pick with "OH, Aaaaaaa-drian Fiala."
If you knew anything at all, then you would have known that Adrian was recruited by Ara Parseigian as well as Bob Devaney. Was he a HoF linebacker? No. But he earned a law degree and has gone on to do many, many things for the football program and the University behind the scenes that you will never know about.
If you don't like his broadcasting, that's your opinion. But don't diminish the man's accomplishments. He'll have far more friends than you will ever know.
I do not care for Adrian's broadcasting abilities, although he is not nearly as bad as Jim Rose. I am sure he has given back to the university and the community as well. I commend him for that.
Congrats to Adrian...he's a great person who deserves this honor.
Who cares what he's done for the football program? He's traded off his university athletic career for his entire adult life and he's how old? This must give Matt Davison hope that he, too, can ride the Husker gravy train into old age.
Betcha' his pension is never reduced. In fact, the taxpayer will ensure it continuously rises to meet cost-of-living increases.
America treats its "heroes" so very well.
Adrian isn't my favorite, but I work in the business and I know Adrian does his prep and homework for whatever event he is covering. He is a classy guy.
