KETV (Cox Channel 9) I-Team consumer reporter Mike Sigmond is leaving the station.
It was widely known within the ABC affiliate that Sigmond had given notice that he was moving on, but KETV management did not return the City Weekly's calls to confirm the news. That situation changed Wednesday when Sigmond's job was posted on KETV.com.
Sigmond is an Omaha Central graduate who started at KETV as a weekend sports anchor in September 2001. He has not publicly announced what his plans are after he leaves the station at the end of May.
The posting for Sigmond's position says the qualified candidate "must be a skilled, creative writer with lots of personality."

Sigmond's a good guy. Hopefully things will work out well for him. He did wear many hats well, but I guest Todd "The Tool" Andrews took his spot.

I thought he did a great job on consumer reports. I hope his new job will work out well for him. I would also like to know where he is going.

ReplyDeleteMike is a good reporter and handles himself well. I think Fubar needs to take Elicia Hammond with her. She has a face for radio and really needs to wear her hair down. I am stunned that Oakey doesn't scream when he turns and looks at her sometimes! Boy howdy

ReplyDeleteActually, ilovenews, I have a friend that works at KETV and he said that Mike is going to WCBS in New York to be part of their Consumer team.
ReplyDeleteACTUALLY 6:52, as someone who ACTUALLY works at KETV I can tell you without a doubt that your friend is passing on bad information. Mike is getting out of the business. If he was leaving for another station he would say so. You need a new friend.
